How To Make Candy Apples

With Halloween coming make your very own treats for the kids (and yourself) with this easy candy apple recipe. Candy apples are a great way to give your children a treat whilst still being fairly good for them. In the UK these are more well known as toffee apples or cadied apples and here, as well as all round the world are very popular at both Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night.
Ingredients
6 sweet apples: Cox's or Braeburn
6 wooden sticks
225g granulated sugar
110ml oz water
10g butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
1/4 teasp vanilla extract
1. Firstly press the wooden sticks into the end of the apple with the stalk.
2. Now pour the water and sugar into a heavy pan, and apply a gentle heat.
3. Add butter, golden syrup and vanilla then bring to the boil, do NOT stir until the mixture is all formed together, swirling the pan is ok.
4. Remove the pan from the heat and dip in your apple swirling as you do and rest with the stick in the on a plate.
5. Now put them in the fridge and they will take around 1/2 hour to go hard.
Alternatives
Chop the apples into quarters and use cocktail sticks then dip, for a smaller treat.
Once the apple is dipped sprinkle nuts, sprinkles or chocolate chips on the toffee whilst it's still soft.

This recipe is really, easy and fun to follow i used the ingredients but just added a little more ingredients and bought a bundle of apples!! bought really easy and tasty!!

I did it and it worked terribly :( It did'nt stick to the apples even though I washed them to get the wax off. It was a waste of time and money and it just got everything into a sticky mess. Would not recommened. It did'nt go hard either it just went more sticky. Not at all pleased. :(
