My Return To Regular Hubbing

67

By stubbs

Hi guys as some of you may know and others maybe not I haven't posted a hub for over 5 months. I loved writting and enjoyed hubpages great community spirit and the excellent writing talents of both regular hubbers (who I still had some time to enjoy now and again) and of new hubbers who were just discovering the great world of hubpages. Unfortuantley I have had almost no free time on my hands to be able to do what I love, reading and writting. So which is why I have decided to dedicate a hub to my return and tell you a little about what I've been up to aswell as what sort of hubs you can expect to see from in the furture.

What I've Been Doing

Well where to start, I know I could make up whatever I like here and say I've been travelling the world fighting crime and hanging out with my Hollywood buddies but I won't. At the end of 2007 I decided I needed to get myself together after finishing school in June and not having done anything except laze around mooch off my parents and getting fairly sozzled during the summer and beyond. So with a new head on I got myself a temporary job working at my local supermarket for the Christmas period, it paid well and I learnt allot doing it but it was a short term thing to earn myself enough money to survive the next few months whilst I searched for a job more suited to my ambitions.

I finished my contract there in January 2008 and began my hunt for another job, I was looking at office work at first doing anything from photocopying to counting numbers on a screen but i had no luck. I was pretty depressed at one point as I had good grades and i think of myself now as being fairly intelligent but yet no-one even wanted to give me an interview. It wasn't until the 26th of march that my life started to change, I had an interview and for job that sounded perfect for me. I've always wanted to be involved with IT and in-particular web design and this interview was for a great trainee position as an IT production...dude, a great foot in the door to the world of IT. I dreaded the interview but got through it and was offered the job on the 4th April a very special but slightly sad day for a few reasons, I was over the moon and was told I would start on the 21st of April.

Between then my Dad ran the London marathon for the second time, the first time being 25 years ago and he did it in 4 hours and 25 minutes, exactly 25minutes slower then 25 years ago, a minute for every year he got older "not bad for 52" was his first exhausted reaction to his time. My second oldest brother was also putting an offer on a new flat with his girlfriend and my oldest brother (i have two) was planning an amazing trip to the US with my dad to the New Orleans jazz festival and a road trip through California. On the 4th of April when i was told i got the job it was fairly poignant as it felt like my childhood had ended, news also came that day that my favourite band, one that represented my youth more then any other was splitting up (Milburn).

It was as if everyone and everything was growing up and moving on. A good thing in some ways as my family has had a rough past 10 years, sad in others as I still have good memories with friends and places. So now I've begun work and I am loving every moment of it, the freedom that comes with having my own money is great and the feeling of a good days work at the end of each day is terrific. I've settled in and got used to getting up at 6am not 2pm and feel i can get back to doing one of my favourite hobbies, writing.

What's To Come...

Well in terms of life who knows, I'm learning new things, meeting new people and growing more wise everyday so hopefully i'll be ok.

For Hubpages well I've got lots of ideas and plenty of laptop battery to write them up. I hope to keep existing fans with similair articles to those I've already done and attract new ones with more hubs on stories of my life (only interesting ones) and on people i both admire and dislike. I want to do more on my 'Why' series andif theres time do a picture of the week with a short article about it. I have a new laptop soi can write as much as I want now aswell :-)

My aim when I joined hubpages was to make money from writing but that has switched from being priority to just a bonus to what I enjoy doing here.

See You Around

So that is it really just wanted to update people rather then dive right in. Thank you to people who have stayed as fans and also to people i am fans of staying writing, I have been reading although i may not have always commented and how brilliant your hubs are.

Thank you for reading this far and am surpised you read past "I'm back" and did'nt just sigh and hit home.
